Antibiotics: Ethical Considerations
Featured Review
Description
Over the past century, antibiotics have been a life-saver for many. But they have also created un-intended consequences such as SIBO, gut dysbiosis, and accelerated mutations in bacteria leading to antibiotic-resistance. Dr. Satya Ambrose delves into the ethical issues surrounding antibiotics including side effects in both humans and animals, the fraudulent production of antibiotics sold throughout the world, and the growing issue of antibiotic-resistance superbugs and what this means for our medical system. In addition, she touches upon phage therapy as a safe and effective alternative to treating infectious diseases. By taking this course, you will gain a deep understanding of the different ethical aspects of antibiotic therapy as well as have a general, pharmacological overview of the various kinds and applications of current antibiotics.
Dr. Satya Ambrose ND, LAc is a noted educator, teaching at both the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) and the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM). Her private practice focuses on oncology, endocrinology, cardiology, immunology, acupuncture, and women’s health.
